IPwe Signs Cooperative Agreement with Jiangbei New District to Accelerate Tech Transfer & IP Transactions

November 19, 2020 – The 2020 Nanjing-Haizhi International IP Forum was held in Jiangbei New District, bringing together over 100 industry experts from enterprises, universities, the Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology, the Nanjing Science and Technology Association, and the Haizhi (Offshore) Base met at to discuss the changing IP ecosystem.

During the forum, IPwe signed a partnership agreement with Jiangbei New District’s local government, agreeing to participate in the construction of the Operation Center of Value-added Patent Services in the region. IPwe China will focus on technology transfer and accelerate patent transactions for universities, research institutes and R&D labs.

Jiangbei’s Path to a World-Class IP Ecosystem

Nanjing Jiangbei New District is the thirteenth national new district in China and the only one in Jiangsu Province. The District focuses on exploring innovative development paths of the intellectual property system, promoting the effective integration of intellectual property and financial resources, and building a national pilot zone for intellectual property and financial innovation.

Jiangbei New District will build “One Center, Two Platforms and Three Cores” including (1 Center) national pilot zone for intellectual property finance innovation; (2 Platforms) physical gathering area for IP financial services + internet-based public service platform for integrated development of online and offline platforms.

(3) “three cores” refer to the building of an IP finance big data research institute, an IP evaluation system and an IP risk mitigation system. The goal is to further activate the value chain of intellectual property, solve the financing problems of science and technology-based SMEs, and promote the development of real economy investment and financing as well as the high-quality development of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The cooperation agreement between IPwe and the local government will thus serve these goals, focusing on providing innovative solutions to leading industries such as integrated circuits, biomedicine and new finance in the Jiangbei New District.
